Capturing an engagement session of someone you've known for years can be a bit of a surreal experience.  The joy of witnessing a friend reveal her intimate affection with the person she is vowing to commit to brings with it a subtle bliss.  You know that you are documenting a happiness in them that would not exist without each other and you are grateful for that.  Shooting with Shimo and Mayuka together, from the rolling hills of San Francisco down to its hidden alleys, gave me a satisfaction few outside of photography will ever be able to fully comprehend, but I do hope these beautiful images at least gives you a small hint of how I saw them.
